Iron Ore – Roll Crushing Technology redefined!

Redefining roller crushing technology – exploring limits – setting new standards

Crushing soft and medium-soft rocks with compressive strengths of up to 100MPa. Roller crushers have been known for these applications up to now and this technology cannot be used for more. We are constantly confronted with these statements and we are no longer satisfied with them.

We at Crush+Size Technology have set ourselves the task of pushing roller crushing technology to a new level and are constantly sounding out where the limits of this technology can be found.

Our latest practical test was a real challenge:

Iron ore (magnetite) with compressive strengths of up to 300 MPa was to be crushed as a secondary stage from a feed grain size of 0-300 mm to a final grain size of 0-80 mm.

Our mobile CST 771 plant was used, equipped with the DRC series toothed roller, which was subjected to its hardness test here.

The result was outstanding. Lots of coarse grain, minimal fines, with a throughput rate of 200-300 t/h. The material passed through the crushing chamber almost effortlessly.

For us, the result is clear. Hard rock and roller crushing technology are not mutually exclusive. Wherever the quality of the crushing result is important, we will also bring our roller crushers into play.

The valuable findings of this test are now being incorporated into the ongoing development of our crushers for high-performance mining applications.

The DRC series is a double roller crusher with a toothed roller, equipped with hydraulic gap adjustment and overload protection.
